Position Summary
As an Inventory Specialist in the rental department, you are responsible for ensuring we have the correct quantities of rental skis and snowboards at all of our locations daily. You will need to use our inventory system and physical counts to make sure each rental location has the correct amount of each model and size for skis, snowboards, and boots. You will also need to help ensure all gear is being cycled to the tune shop at West Village for repairs, maintenance, and ASTM testing as needed. You will need to have strong communication skills, a hard work ethic, and not be afraid to work in a team or on your own. This role requires you to be a key holder, and you may be responsible for opening or closing any of our rental locations on any given shift. You’ll need a valid driver’s license and be on our drivers' list in order to perform all of your job responsibilities. This is an inside and outside job. It will be necessary for you to assist with moving ski racks, shoveling, and opening/closing the point of sale system as needed. The inventory specialist will be moving between all locations daily.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Have basic product knowledge of rental equipment.
Use the provided inventory system to check reservations and ensure we have the correct model and size quantities at all rental locations daily.
Ensure all rental equipment at all locations is cycled through the tune shop to receive any necessary tuning and maintenance.
Work with Rental Manager, Rental Supervisors, and Tune Shop Lead to ensure all ski binding ASTM testing procedures are being completed at all locations for rental equipment.
Understand all procedures for the point-of-sale system, including opening and closing the register.
Be a key holder and assist with opening and closing daily as needed.
Have a valid driver's license and complete the driver's list requirements.
Practice and lead safe operating procedures while using all equipment, tools, and machines.
Use safe lifting practices daily.
Assist in all training aspects of the rental shop as needed.
Assist with processing rentals and boot fitting at any location.
Help with guest return processes as needed at any location.
Make sure every guest has their foot measured for proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots, and work with co-workers with training on best boot fitting practices as a whole.
Must obtain excellent knowledge of the mountain, including but not limited to: lodges, lifts, terrain, and operating schedules.
Keep the work area and vehicle clean and organized, and promote this with others.
Be sure the vehicle receives daily safety inspections and has enough gas to get wherever you need to go that day. Don’t leave the gas tank on empty for the next shift.
Must be able to self-manage and lead co-workers with teamwork on the daily transportation of equipment.
Must obtain ski binding certification from Amer Sports after training.
This is an indoor/outdoor job that requires long periods of exposure to the elements as well as prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
Other tasks as assigned.
Secondary Function
Assist other stations in the Rental shop. Assist in snow removal (shoveling) of the Rental shop’s designated areas. Assist in day/overnight storage of ski equipment/ and or weekend and holiday outside ski check attending. Assist in moving ski racks onto the snow in the morning and replacing them at the end of the day. Assist in housekeeping of work areas – clean and vacuum as needed. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Job Scope
Mt. Bachelor Rental Shop is the largest in Central Oregon. The team works together in a very fast-paced atmosphere. Our staff is required to be knowledgeable and professional. Our staff must be passionate about the sport and willing to use their knowledge to assist our guests in selecting the products (rentals, lessons, lift tickets) that best fit their needs.

Specific Job Skills
License/Certifications: Must pass certification test with binding manufacturers.
Technical: Some mechanical problem-solving skills.
Physical Capabilities: The ability to push 50 lbs. of force at a height of 42”. Willing to stand outside in all weather conditions while running Corral.
Education/Related Experience
Minimum Education: High School or Equivalent Required.
Minimum time in related position: 1 year in customer service, retail, hospitality, or related customer service experience.
