POSITION PURPOSE: Safely transport students to and from assigned destination
DIRECT REPORT: Director of Transportation
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform pre and post trip inspections, and report any maintenance needs to the Director of Transportation
- Drive assigned route directly and efficiently by adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations and school policy
- Maintain safety and provide a positive, respectful environment on the bus by supporting and modeling our mission and core values
- Complete necessary documentation including daily logs and incident reports when needed
- Keep the bus tidy and clutter free
- Sweep and mop the bus weekly as directed
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma required.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience driving a bus (school bus experience highly valued)
Skills and Abilities
- Able to drive and maneuver large buses
- Valid CDL including “S” endorsement
- Ability to patiently interact with students of all ages
- Ability to work flex hours as needed
- Clear driving record
- Preferred first aid/CPR certification
