Job Title: Vehicle Maintenance Technician
Department: Vehicle Maintenance

Status: Seasonal FT

Reporting To: Vehicle Maintenance Manager


Position Overview:


We are looking to add a skilled, forward thinking, adaptable individual, to our vehicle maintenance shop. Individuals will be expected to perform diagnosis and repair on the equipment listed below as well as, being able to work well with others and in an efficient manner.


Our Fleet:

Snowcats 

Snowmobiles 

Heavy Equipment 

Light Duty Trucks 

Shuttle and Transit Buses  

Small Engine Equipment


Key Responsibilities:

  • If necessary, work hours other than scheduled.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Overall understanding of Powder Mountains policies and procedures
  • Good work ethic, polite to co-workers, and follows directions when being asked to undergo a task
  • Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills
  • Reliable transportation, preferably 4x4 vehicle
  • Must provide own tools 

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Preferred 1 to 3 years experience in Vehicle Maintenance
  • Preferred experience with front-end loaders, snow cats, and related equipment
  • Level 1-3 Defendant Upon Requirements Below:
  • Utilize vehicle and equipment technical knowledge, skills, and abilities to optimize equipment downtime, which includes and not limited to:  
  • Gas / Diesel Engine Repair and Diagnosis 
  • Drive Train Repair and Diagnosis 
  • Electrical Repair and Diagnosis 
  • Schematic Familiarity - Hydraulic, Electrical
  • Brake System Repair and Diagnosis 
  • Steering and Suspension Repair and Diagnosis 
  • Preventative Maintenance on Fleet Vehicles 
  • Welding / Fabrication  
  • Hydraulic Diagnosis and Repair  
  • Engages around priorities to foster engagement, collaboration, and results 
  • Supports the professional growth and development of employees across all levels of the organization 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Self Starting - Team Oriented Mentality
  • Takes Pride In Repairs Performed
  • Ability To Follow Proper Channels Of Communication

Physical Requirements - Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, and twisting
  • Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs
  • Manual dexterity to operate vehicles safely constantly
  • Ability to withstand cold temperatures for multiple hours including but not limited to field repairs


Working Environment - Must be able to work in harsh environments including, but not limited to:

  • Negative degree temperatures
  • Varying priority based repairs
  • Within a shop housing multiple departments
  • Extended periods of time in the snow performing repairs / diagnosis
  • Whiteout conditions
  • Must be able to safely operate all equipment in varying conditions
