The Financial Operations and Reimbursement Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial accounting operations, reimbursement functions, and related reporting. This position manages the month-end close process, develops and maintains accounting policies and internal controls, supports financial planning and budgeting, ensures timely and accurate financial statements, manages third-party reimbursement processes, and oversees the cost reporting functions. The role ensures compliance with GAAP, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and other applicable standards, while fostering a culture consistent with MDIH’s Integrated Care Philosophy.

Requirements

  

Education, Training, and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong financial analytics skills.
  • Cost Reporting for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Experience Required

  • 3–5 years of healthcare and/or non-profit accounting experience.
  • 2–5 years supervisory experience.
  • 2-4 years cost reimbursement for Medicare and Mainecare (Critical Access Hospital designation preferred) and respective cost reporting requirements.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical, projection, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience preparing service line reviews and “what-if” scenarios.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Medicare and Medicaid Cost Report Expertise
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and interaction with senior leadership.

Cognitive and Physical Requirements

  • Emotional maturity and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Work performed indoors in a standard office environment.
