Now Hiring: Assistant Manager – Unity Resale Shoppe
Are you a positive and mission-driven leader who loves retail, enjoys working with volunteers, and finds purpose in supporting your community? Unity Resale Shoppe is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead day-to-day store operations and ensure an exceptional experience for shoppers, donors, and volunteers.
In this role, you’ll partner with the Shoppe Manager to create engaging displays, rotate and replenish inventory, inspire a dedicated volunteer team, and promote the Shoppe through both in-person and online channels. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on customer service with operational and leadership responsibilities, all while supporting Unity’s hospice, palliative care, and grief support services.
Location:
Unity Resale Shoppe - East | 1302 S Broadway, De Pere
Occasional support at Unity Resale Shoppe - West in Green Bay
Schedule:
32-40 hours per week during store business hours, with occasional flexibility for evenings or weekends.
Business hours are Monday - Thursday: 10am - 6pm, Friday: 10am - 4pm, and Saturday: 10am - 2pm
What You’ll Do:
1. Assistant Shoppe Manager:
- Support the Shoppe Manager in daily operations and step into full leadership on assigned days.
- Serve as the go-to decision-maker when needed. Whether that’s troubleshooting the point-of-sale system, contacting the landlord for urgent issues, or managing cash in the safe.
- Be available on-call as scheduled, with the ability to arrive at the Shoppe within 60 minutes if needed.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers, creating a positive and productive environment.
2. Inventory and Merchandising Supervisor:
- Welcome donors and assist with unloading donations, including furniture and large household goods.
- Deliver friendly, helpful customer service - answering questions, assisting with purchases, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Regularly rotate merchandise and refresh displays to keep the Shoppe inviting and inventory moving.
- Move and arrange furniture and decor to create a fresh, engaging shopping experience.
3. Online Sales Manager:
- Research the value of unique items for in-store and online sales.
- Photograph, list, and manage items on platforms such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Poshmark, generating online revenue to help meet sales goals.
4. Unity Ambassador:
- Use social media to showcase new arrivals and events, attracting customers to the Shoppe.
- Represent Unity Resale Shoppe at community events and promote our mission.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
1. Associate of Business Management, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail management.
3. Minimum of two years’ retail experience with experience leading people.
4. Minimum of one year of retail staging or merchandising experience.
5. Experience working with and/or supervising volunteers is preferred.
6. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance coverage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, quickly solve problems, move and re-arrange furniture, and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.
2. Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Keen sense of style, staging, merchandising, and presentation.
5. Planning, organizing, and project coordination skills.
6. Ability to interact effectively with all people.
7. Ability to observe, interpret and understand consumer behavior and demographics to merchandise accordingly.
8. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with emotional or confrontational circumstances.
9. Ability to be an effective team member and handle projects responsibly.
10. Strong customer service skills.
11. Ability to be flexible in availability including nights and weekends as needed.
12. Ability to stand for five or more hours, bend, lift and twist.
