Location: Washington Distribution Center

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


General Overview: Performs quality inspections, audits and testing on products from various suppliers and facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs quality audits on products from various suppliers and facilities.
  • Performs various testing as required by product specifications and defect reference manuals, both quantitative and visual. Prepare reports of findings/testing and other pertinent information to the lead as required.
  • Maintain documentation of testing/findings and other pertinent information. 
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Microsoft filing methods.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions to ensure correct procedure. Works closely with the Quality Engineers responsible for each product line. 
  • Participate in the development of new procedures as needed.
  • Knowledge of/or willingness to learn ERP system (E1)
  • Willingness and ability to learn Docuware for filing/routing of NCRs (nonconformance reports). All other duties as assigned by lead/manager.
  • Follows safety guidelines for job as described and general for facility.
  • All other duties as requested.
  • May be assigned to various other areas or departments as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferable
  • Performs quality audits on products from various suppliers and facilities.
  • Performs various testing as required by product specifications and defect reference manuals, both quantitative and visual. Prepare reports of findings/testing and other pertinent information to the lead as required.
  • Maintain documentation of testing/findings and other pertinent information.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Employee will be required to hear warning horns, bells, alarms, and oral instructions for safety purposes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, shipping orders, packing specifications, labels, reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards are essential.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as prints, orders, and instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as quantities and combined box counts. Ability to apply concepts of basic math. Ability to complete and handle detailed measuring.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
