SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Finance to lead the finance department of Zylidac. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Bio-CDMO pharmaceutical industry with expertise in financial management, analysis, strategic planning, accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, cost management, business strategy, risk management, and budgeting. This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role. As a key member of the executive team, the Director of Finance will be instrumental in shaping the financial future of our company by providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive team, administer and review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress and changes, and keep the senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Develop and maintain product costing, overhead management, invoicing as per the contracts
- Project accounting and development, maintain and monitor project costing, accounting and billing
- Coordinate new short term and long-term clients on boarding.
- Implement systems including ERP systems for GAAP accounting and reporting
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system, ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to, and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
- Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the CFO.
- Ensure federal and state tax compliance including filing proper returns on a timely basis
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and assess and communicate any changes necessary.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive management team.
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
- Develop and maintain banking relationships and day-to-day operations
- Any other job given by the management on regular basis
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS – SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the Bio CDMO pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting, including financial analysis, strategic planning, financial reporting, forecasting, cost management, business strategy, risk management, and budgeting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- A strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
- Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
- Ability to look at situations from several points of view
