Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain, calibrate, repair, perform preventative maintenance on furnace controllers, recorders, temperature measurement equipment, test equipment and sensors. Maintain, calibrate, test, and perform preventative maintenance of furnace combustion systems. Conducts pyrometry tests per SOPs and industry specifications. Work on voltages up to 50 VAC/DC.
Key Objectives
- Learn and understand relevant industry & customer specifications related to heat treating of metal in the aerospace and automotive industries.
- Prepare, perform, and record system accuracy tests, entering data into spreadsheets, data bases, calibration system.
- Build tests racks, simulated production loads, manufacture thermocouples for and Conduct Temperature Uniformity Surveys.
- Perform Instrument calibrations on controllers, recording instruments and field test instruments.
- Complete and review pyrometry documentation.
- Responsible for inventory of supplies relating to TUS, SAT, and Safety Checks.
- Checks, installs, adjusts, and calibrates, controllers, flowmeters, transducers, recorders, regulators, valves, and combustion equipment.
- Perform soldering and welding functions as it relates to sensors (thermocouples).
- Safety check furnaces and maintain combustion systems.
- Operate material handling equipment.
- Record, interpret and react to information on SPC (statistical process control) forms, charts, and graphs.
- Select and carry out scheduled work orders based on equipment needs.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and supplier concerning project or equipment status and technical issues.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactorily pass a comprehensive skills test and interview.
- Pass a physical examination, drug screen test and background check.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). - Completion of an electronic technical certificate and/or degree program
