Responsibilities include building and maintaining close relationships with all assigned accounts, growing existing accounts while following up on new leads and potential/new accounts.  Providing accurate, profitable quotes, thorough contract review, ensuring all customer requirements are met/flowed down through detailed order entry.  Candidate must have a high propensity to multitask in a distribution setting, engaging with both customers and suppliers.  This role requires the capability to understand and comprehend a wide range of product types, being detailed-oriented, having strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to negotiate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact assigned customers by phone and email to generate sales, promote products, and strengthen relationships.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products, solutions, or alternatives based on cost, availability, and specifications.
  • Provide accurate product, pricing, and delivery information; process orders, quotes, returns, and adjustments efficiently to meet all customer requirements.
  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, and proper usage to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and monitor account activity to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Track shipments, expedite deliveries, and communicate any changes in demand to purchasing.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales and service goals while following company policies and presenting a professional image.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of distribution, industrial products, or fasteners a plus.
  • High school diploma required; associate, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
