Belle Haven Country Club located in Alexandria, Virginia has immediate opening for a seasoned Banquet Captain. Must have prior experience managing others in banquet/catering operations.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The banquet Captain directs and supervises Banquet Servers, Bartenders assigned in every shift under the general guidance of the Banquet Manager in accordance to the Club policies and procedures. He/she will work closely with Banquet Manager to ensure the complete set up, production and break down of all banquet functions outlined through BHCC banquet event orders.
The Banquet Captain works a flexible schedule and embodies the full-service culture at Belle Haven.

Job Tasks/Duties
· Reports daily to his/her immediate Supervisor.
· Review Banquet Event Orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure appropriate room set up.
· Confirm and set up A/V equipment for the event as needed. Must have working IT knowledge.
· Hold pre function meetings with servers and bartenders to guarantee smooth service, timing and coordination between front and end of the house.
· Meet with all Party Contacts in order to execute a successful event.
· Maintains service equipment including daily cleaning and proper storage.
· Follows Club safety standards as outlined in Teammate Handbook.
· Anticipates member/guests requests and delivers service accordingly.
· Follows sequence of service as trained by Banquet Captain/Manager and culinary team.
· Understands menus being served and is able to answer questions by members and guests.
· Notifies Banquet Manager and culinary team about any member/guest allergies.
· Follows responsible alcohol service standards, sanitation at all the times.
· Performs other tasks deemed necessary by Banquet Manager/or F&B Director.
Licenses and Special Requirements
· Food Safety Certifications preferred
· Responsible alcohol service certifications preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Continuous repetitive motions.
- Push,pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
Must have at least 4 years prior banquet supervisory experience.
Speak, read and understand English communication.
