About our Department:
The Information Technology Service Department’s primary responsibilities are in the areas of providing information technology, developing and implementing recommended standards for information technology, developing and maintaining security policies and systems and coordinating the acquisition of information technology for all City Departments. Our goal is to provide the best data processing services to the City through the effective utilization of existing and new information technology. The ITS Department will implement and support technologies and processes that will increase service to City employees and enhance staff productivity.
Information Technology Manager Position Overview:
This is advanced technical and professional work involving computer system design, development and maintenance and operation of a division of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. Work involves analyzing, planning, coordinating, managing, and implementing goals and objectives pertaining to networked computer systems, wireless communication networks, applications, division financial budgets, and related information technology needs of the City. Work involves supervising a professional and technical staff.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and considerable experience in the field of information technology supporting public safety organization Information Technology; at least five (5) years' of supervisory experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
Must pass a fingerprint background check
Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion date and maintain CJIS certification thereafter
May require successful completion of a pre-employment supplemental application and polygraph examination.
