Job Summary:
The Lead Compensation Advisor plays a vital role in ensuring that the organization's compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. You will lead and mentor the compensation analysts and collaborate with various departments to design, implement, and manage compensation strategies. Works closely with line management and HR constituents to ensure equitable and competitive pay programs that comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Serves as a Project Lead for various compensation-related special projects

Key Responsibilities:
  • Researches, designs, develops and implements annual and ad hoc compensation programs and compensation policies and practices. Serves as Project Lead for a variety of ad hoc or multi-month or longer compensation-related special projects.
  • Administers hospital's classification system, reviewing new and revised job descriptions, auditing jobs when necessary, recommending classification, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Identifies and recommends changes to job description and/or structure to line management and HR constituents.
  • Administers hospital's compensation system, conducting market surveys, reviewing and making recommendations on requests for salary increases, equity adjustments, market adjustments and new hire rates to line management or HR constituents. Provides and discusses analyses and supporting documentation.
  • Develops and analyzes a variety of employee, demographic and salary data/reports to support compensation planning, meet state and federal reporting requirements, and provide managers and HR constituents information to facilitate decision-making.
  • Ensures all compensation activities (e.g., FLSA determinations, pay recommendations) are conducted in accordance with federal and state wage-and-hour laws and other laws as applicable.
  • Assesses and develops compensation resources, tools and systems that enhance the capability of the compensation function to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior management to develop and implement compensation strategies that align with the company's goals.
  • Supervise and mentor compensation analysts, providing guidance and support.
Qualifications Required:
  • BA degree or equivalent experience required; MA degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible compensation experience.  
  • Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply moderately complex mathematical and statistical principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced ability utilizing a variety of software applications e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, presentation and relational databases.
  • Finely honed communication skills in order persuade and negotiate on complex and sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated planning and time management skills in order to successfully manage high volume multiple competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations relating to the human resources and specifically the compensation field.
