Who We Need
- Supervise and support BHT staff to ensure high-quality client care and adherence to treatment protocols.
- Ensure all BHTs are trained and current with annual organizational trainings and certifications.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training as needed.
- Hold regular Lead BHT meetings and provide consistent 1:1 supervision to support professional development.
- Help and support the team when needed, including stepping in during high-acuity situations or staffing gaps.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory standards of operation.
- Ensure all BHT are following all organizational and program policies and protocols.
- Oversee daily facility operations to maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Conduct monthly fire drills and ensure all required licensing and certifications are visibly posted.
- Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address repairs and upkeep.
- Maintain a monthly log of walkthrough of the property to address any safety concerns.
- Monitor inventory and supply needs for residential programming.
- Identify and address safety concerns promptly, including physical safety, emergency preparedness, and infection control.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Ensure Incident Reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
- Run reports in program system to monitor documentation and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Lead incident reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop and manage BHT schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
- Coordinate shift swaps, time-off requests, and holiday coverage.
- Maintain staffing ratios and adjust schedules based on census and acuity.
- Serve as the primary on-call contact for staffing issues and operational concerns.
- Provide guidance and support during behavioral escalations and critical incidents.
- Ensure timely communication with leadership and clinical teams during emergencies.
- Actively participate in clinical staffing meetings to discuss member progress, behavioral concerns, and treatment planning.
- Provide operational insights and BHT feedback to support individualized care.
- Ensure BHTs receive updates from clinical staffing and review notes to stay informed and aligned with treatment goals.
- Work closely with the Program Director to ensure services reflect best practices in behavioral health
- Promote trauma-informed care and harm reduction strategies across all levels of programming
- Support continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery
- Assist in coordinating transportation and pick-up of new members to ensure smooth transitions into the program
- Communicate with admissions and clinical teams to prepare for member arrivals.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred) or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in behavioral health or residential treatment setting.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience in facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and behavioral health protocols.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to de-escalate high-stress situations and manage behavioral crises effectively
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Successful completion of Copa’s training program.
- Must have a fingerprint clearance card issued by Direct Access Clearance System (DACS) with Utah Department of Health & Human Services.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
- TB Test clearance required at the time of hire and annually.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical clearance at the time of hire.
- Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License with state minimum insurance coverage and ability to meet and maintain Copa Health’s acceptable driving requirements.
