We work collaboratively with our clinical caregivers, patients, and families to improve and maintain ideal lung health. The goal of our Respiratory Therapist is to perform with a high degree of competency in all clinical aspects of respiratory care for all age groups (adult, geriatric, and neonatal). Respiratory therapy includes the application and monitoring of medical gases (excluding anesthetic gases) and environmental control systems, mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacologic agents related to respiratory care procedures, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation related and limited to respiratory care. Also can perform, read and document daily QA reports. %3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EUtilizes effective communication with physician regarding ordered tests, interpretation of PFLab data, and other physical findings. Reports critical values to physician. %3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EFosters teamwork by treating all staff fairly, facilitating 2-way communication and having a collaborative attitude. %3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EDemonstrates safe arterial puncture skills and follows departmental policies/procedures when obtaining arterial blood gas samples. %3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EGenerates patient charges at end of shift with little error; Maintains pulmonary function records and backs up test data according to departmental policies. %3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EReports all relative patient care and equipment issues to clinical manager.
