About the Position
The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Mechanical Construction to oversee construction management operations for projects across Southeast Pennsylvania, with a concentration in the Harrisburg, Reading, and Scranton markets. The position is remote but requires occasional travel to the Cleveland area. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring successful project delivery through strong leadership in safety, financial oversight, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client management.
This role will work closely with engineering teams, safety personnel, and internal stakeholders, and will require occasional travel to the company's Cleveland, Ohio headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce a culture of safety; ensure all employees and subcontractors comply with safety regulations in partnership with the Safety Manager.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients; foster strong, ongoing relationships to support smooth project execution.
- Contract & Compliance: Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, legal requirements, and community standards throughout all phases of the project.
- Budget & Financial Management:
- Manage project budgets and protect profit margins.
- Negotiate and procure subcontractors, materials, and equipment with support from senior leaders.
- Oversee change orders, scope revisions, and contract adjustments.
- Scheduling & Delivery:
- Manage project workflows to meet key milestones.
- Oversee engineering approvals, submittals, and construction phases to ensure timely delivery.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Lead project meetings across preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
- Coordinate internal teams and ensure accurate, timely information exchange.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in mechanical, commercial, institutional, or industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation technologies preferred.
- Experience in government or school construction is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and team leadership.
- Willingness to travel to project sites in Southeast Pennsylvania and occasionally to company headquarters in Cleveland, OH.
