JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position ensures proper and accurate packaging and shipping of customer orders.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to independently prioritize workload/orders following a time sensitive schedule.
• Cross reference items and quantity picked to the sales order ensuring that orders are being shipped accurately.
• Perform duties such as manual lifting, packing, taping, and labeling.
• Quality check materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Perform packing functions using the WMS system.
• Determine which size and type of box to use for each product.
• Seal packages or materials by using brown tape, clear tape, or staple gun.
• Use an RF scanner (PDA) to consolidate packages being shipped internationally.
• Report defective materials, over/under picks, and questionable conditions to the team lead/supervisor.
• Ensure that all safety rules are followed.
• Cross train on all warehouse functions
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work area.
• Other duties as required
SKILLS:
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
• Ability to read and follow instructions with detail,
• Ability to follow safety rules and department procedures.
• Basic math skills with emphasis on addition and subtraction
• Ability to complete tasks within assigned deadlines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40lbs unassisted on to carts/pallets
• Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 125lbs assisted on to carts/pallets
• Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, pull, and push for a minimum of (8) hours
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
