About the Department

The purpose of the Associate Athletics Director – Internal Operations job is to ensure that the University assets are protected through applicable external and internal regulations

Position Duties

  • Supervises event management, facilities, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning.
  • Sport Administrator for multiple sports.
  • Assist Athletics Director in hiring all head coaches and senior administrators to maintain the highest quality athletic program in all sports.
  • Serve on the Athletics Director’s senior staff to plan, implement, support, and review annual initiatives for the athletic department.
  • Enhance an organization that executes the business of Division I athletics while also being a committed partner with the academic community.
  • Implement plans, policies, procedures, and programs that are in compliance with the University of Louisiana System, university, conference, NCAA rules and regulations, applicable state and federal laws, and which promote the mission of the Department, as well as the University’s high standard of academic excellence and the general welfare of student-athletes.
  • Help ensure an environment that is committed to the best interest of student-athletes consistent with their educational, ethical, social, and physical development.
  • Foster a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Develop a clear vision and strategic plan for the department that will ensure the Departments’ success in being fiscally responsible while complying with all University regulations along with state and federal laws.
  • Understand and communicate the value of athletics to the overall mission and strategic plan of the University to both internal and external constituencies.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Proven history of excellent administrative skills.
  • Unwavering commitment to ethics responsibility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, community, diversity, and gender equity.
  • Must demonstrate an appreciation of university culture and tradition.
