Scope:
The Senior Manager, Demand Planning, is responsible for all demand planning activities for the Cooper Surgical business unit. The business is currently comprised of 3 commercial segments, 4,000 actively sold products, and annual revenue exceeding one billion dollars.
Job Summary:
The Sr. Manager, Demand Planning is accountable for high-quality, unconstrained consensus demand plans, and the global process to enrich, consolidate, and publish those plans for high-growth business. The scope of this role is to manage people, processes and systems across demand planning as well as supporting the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) processes.
In this role, you and your global team will be the trusted authority of the company’s demand signals across a rolling 24-month time horizon, ensuring plan alignment while eliminating bias across a broad spectrum of stakeholders and data inputs. This role is a key enabler to an effective S&OP process, which delivers customer satisfaction at an optimized cost.
Responsibilities
- Selects, leads and manages the team of demand planners across the company
- Ensures the appropriate process structure, inputs, outputs, reviews, and cadence of demand planning globally to deliver company demand plans on a monthly cycle
- Drives the appropriate metrics, KPI’s, and exception management systems to ensure the next demand plan is more credible than the last
- Continuously optimizes the demand planning tools to provide robust statistical models, data integrity, and outputs at appropriate hierarchy levels (regions & products)
- Drives engagement and participation of consensus demand review and other S&OP meetings, including consolidation and distribution of presentation materials, key decisions, demand plan publish, meeting notes/action items
- Aligns product management and supply chain stakeholders to ensure successful new product introduction and phase-out of discontinued products
- Drives Financial partnership to ensure quality financial forecasts, including avg. selling price, mix and margin to ensure monthly financial realization
- Create and maintain documentation and Standard Operating Procedures for demand forecasting, planning processes, and systems. Ensure demand planning processes meet legal requirements and standards
Travel:
- Domestic and international travel will be a part of this role, ranging from 10-20%
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience in supply chain
- Ability to successfully create clear actionable objectives and facilitate career planning for team members
- Understanding of end-to-end planning and supply chain management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Work Environment:
- Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
- Mix of face to face and virtual meetings
Experience:
- 10 years+ of relevant supply chain management experience. Specific experience in demand planning or in business forecasting area required, ideally in the Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Pharma industries
- 5 years+ of experience leading team(s)
- Advanced planning tool experience and/or implementation (e.g. O9/ Kinaxis Rapid Response/ APO)
Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or relevant field
- Preferred: Master’s degree in business or supply chain management
- Preferred: APICS or similar professional accreditation

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
