The Worcester County Developmental Center (WCDC) is looking for a Residential Manager to join our fast-paced, client driven team. The Residential Manager will work collaboratively with the residential team to empower the residential individuals to lead rich and meaningful lives. This position is crucial for providing backup coverage, support to residents, ensuring ongoing supervision within the residential program, and maintaining the program's 24/7 operational needs.   


Salary:  Salary will be commensurate with experience.

 

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Residential Manager will participate in an on-call rotation every 3 weeks, to include weekends and variable hours outside of the normal work schedule.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will join a team of managers to provide leadership and supervision to the residential department.
  • Ensure assigned homes run in accordance with WCDC policies and procedures as well as DDA regulations.
  • Attend meetings for the individuals and ensure each person has all the services required to meet his/her needs.
  • Collaborate with residential team in the planning, decision making, facilitation of processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Perform regular house visits and inspections.
  • Serve as liaison between WCDC and other agencies, families, etc., fostering a positive and professional working relationship.
  • Be available to staff members, providing regular support and feedback to develop skills in providing encourage excellent client care and personal growth.
  • Pass and maintain certifications in Med Tech, CPR, First Aid, Mandt, special needs training and other related training as required by DDA and WCDC. 
  • Display a willingness to make decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgement.
  • Provide weeknight and weekend on-call support to staff members on a rotating basis.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring and training process for new staff members.
  • Performs other related duties. 

Physical Demands/Work Experience: Must be able to stand and walk 90% of work time, sit and/or drive 10%. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 60 pounds, must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and reach. All of the requirements are necessary to properly supervise and assist individuals with disabilities. Should be able to climb stairs/ladder and have good balance. Vision is required to drive.

Education:  Bachelor's degree required in Human Services or other related field. May substitute 2 – 5 years of leadership/management experience for required degree. 


Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of management experience required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience with team collaboration and employee engagement and leadership.
  • Detail oriented, organized and results driven.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multitask and remain flexible as your day may quickly and without warning shift in an unexpected direction.
