Duties and Responsibilities
This position serves as the Coordinator of UH Hilo's Testing Center. The Testing Center is one of the academic services available through Kilohana: The Academic Success Center whose mission is to provide academic resources and services to students and engage with the campus and surrounding community.
- Manage Testing Center personnel, facilities, equipment, safety, and daily administrative tasks.
- Securely and correctly administer and proctor exams in various mediums including make-up, distance learning, professional, and ADA accommodated exams, including evening and weekends
- Adhere to FERPA and all campus, state/federal, and test agency security and confidentiality regulations.
- Respond to all internal and external communications and service requests available through the Testing Center.
- Coordinate receipt, security, and transmission of exams; maintain and update testing equipment; immediately submit repair requests.
- Hire, train, and supervise student assistants and proctors, monitor, review, and approve student employee time sheets, and manage student payroll within allotted budget
- Oversee established fee assignments, revenue collection, fiscal tracking, and budget compliance; solicit, manage, and maintain third-party vendor agreements in consultation with appropriate supervisors
- Track and analyze data to generate reports on operations, performance, maintenance, finances, and other related activities.
- Ensure Testing Center website accuracy, outreach, marketing, and unit activities in alignment with Kilohana’s vision and mission statements.
- Work with Kilohana and other UH Hilo/UH System offices on planning and operational coordination.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for management and/or support of a higher education testing operation; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of professional testing practices as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with professional testing practices.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office
- Experience working with databases to maintain detailed records
- Demonstrated knowledge of website management
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Ability to work effectively with multiple testing providers from the public and UH
- Ability to effectively interact with other entities within UH
- Knowledge of and experience with UH fiscal and administrative policies and procedures, with accounting or fiscal experience in a public, comprehensive institution of higher education
