JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) is accepting applications for qualified HAS Maintenance Desk Support to join our team! The Houston Airport System Maintenance (HAS) Maintenance Desk Support is a coordination support role to assist in the maintenance of the airport Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).

Responsibilities:    

  • Receive phone calls and radio calls from a call center location using City equipment to receive information from multiple stakeholders on non-operational equipment. Dispatch appropriate personnel and Report on BHS (Baggage Handling System) alarms/events to inspect, clear blockages/jams, and repair failed equipment as appropriate.
  • Enter data into work orders using the city owned CMMS platform.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and BHS related inquiries by radio/telephone in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Proper coordination of stakeholders (JSM, airport, airlines, subcontractors) during BHS contingency event (e.g. partial system outage(s).
  • Accurate and timely communication to JSM and impacted parties during system events (jams, equipment outages).
  • Ability to utilize BHS controls HMI (at control room or other remotely located workstations) to resolve system issues & provide stakeholders with reports – both routine & adhoc.
  • Expected to be able to support JSM in a CRO-A capacity as required by operations.
  • Safety and compliance training as required.
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to speak clearly, fluently and concisely. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress, offering solutions to resolve issues.
  • Ensure professional communication through email by adhering to proper formatting, tone, clarity, and conciseness. 
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts and City employees.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, typing skills, self-motivated, high level of concentration, ability to multitask, critical thinking, problem solving abilities, resilience, stress management, teamwork, takes initiative and has a positive attitude. 
  • Ability to follow various established SOP processes of communication to internal and external customers.
  • Experience with computer software applications (i.e., MS Office, ERP, etc.)  
  • Ability to navigate through multiple Baggage system computer interfaces with basic MS Windows based computer navigation skills. 
  • Ability to communicate through 2-way radio.
  • Ability to communicate using telephone.
  • Possess the versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a member of various teams.  

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This full-time, non-exempt position will be located on-site, at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Our team works various schedules as this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. The work week will be a schedule of 40 hours in total, with the shifts scheduled for either Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday. Shift assignments are determined based on the requirements of the airport and the company, together with a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our technicians are expected to be flexible with regards to potential changes in shift assignments. All shift assignments will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.
 
The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug screening, a drivers' license check and validation, federal fingerprinting, and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.
