Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an ATR Operations Canal Coordinator to work at our Advanced Test Reactor facility. Our team works a 4x10 schedule facility with every Friday off.
You will manage ATR Operations Canal operations by providing operating continuity between the rotating shifts. You will report to the ATRC/NMIS/UA Operations Manager.

Responsibilities Include:
- Manage all ATR Canal operational activities of a broad functional area through non-exempt and exempt specialists. Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Provide technical work directions to multi-discipline bargaining unit personnel in accordance with established policies, procedures, and management guidance. Ensure all canal operations are conducted in accordance with approved ATR Technical safety requirements, transport plans, and DOE, company, and ATR Program policies.
- Manage, train, and motivate staff to meet unit operational objectives. Manage employees who perform similar or related tasks. May supervise more than one shift or work unit and subordinate managers.
- Be responsible for developing and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the organizational unit. Take actions to monitor and manage costs related to a section, and monitor and manage charging costs related to Canal operations.
- Receive assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes. Monitor, integrate, and coordinate daily, weekly, or monthly activities.
- Monitor activities to develop operational enhancements and be responsible for maintaining internal control, schedule, and quality adherence. Develop and manage routine operational plans. Develop and implement schedules for Canal evolutions in collaboration with Experiment Management, Maintenance, Production Control, etc.
- Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the business unit and ATR Operations to ensure safe and successful operations of the ATR Canal in support of the ATR mission.
- Ensure quality record keeping and compliance. Ensure quality, accurate records of canal activities, status of canal waste disposal, and inventories of components and waste items stored within the canal and compliance.
- Recommend changes to sub-unit, unit, or discipline policies. Identify, troubleshoot, or resolve escalated problems, working on issues of moderate to large scope/complexity.
- Interact with subordinate supervisors and functional peer groups. Interaction requires interpreting and explaining information to audiences familiar with the subject.
- Gain cooperation of others by conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or programs.
