Position Summary
The Electrician - Substation plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical substations. With a focus on high voltage installations and maintenance, the successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions
- Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in substations.
- Install various electrical equipment including transformers, switches, and circuit breakers.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Follow safety regulations, work practices, and procedures related to substation work.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments for coordinated project efforts.

Requirements
Position Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in substation electrical work (3-5 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of high voltage systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to electrical work.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for working in electrical substations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma/GED required; additional vocational training or certification is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be capable of working in varied conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
Education & Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 3-5 years in an electrical role, particularly in substations.
Certificates & Licenses: Journey or Master electrician preferred but not required
