On behalf of our client, EMSCO Group, an Erie, PA-based, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of lawn and garden products, Decision Associates is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead their national retail strategy and strengthen partnerships with top-tier accounts including Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menard’s, Kroger, and Albertsons.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you’ll work directly with company leadership to drive retail growth, open new channels, and capture greater market share—while having the autonomy to shape sales processes and strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a national retail sales strategy aligned with company growth goals
- Lead national account management for major retailers
- Negotiate contracts, programs, and promotional agreements with major retailers
- Expand existing account penetration while pursuing new retail partnerships and underdeveloped channels
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and operations to align product launches, promotions, and inventory planning
- Provide market feedback to guide SKU-driven growth and category expansion
- Refine sales processes, reporting, and metrics to improve efficiency and forecasting
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, threats, and growth opportunities
- Represent EMSCO at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings
- Monitor performance against revenue and margin targets and provide regular updates to senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related discipline required. MBA preferred.
- 6+ years in progressive sales roles, including 3+ years managing national retail accounts.
- Proven success in the lawn and garden or seasonal consumer products category preferred.
- Deep relationships or experience working with Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other national retailers.
- Experience in both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce sales channels.
- Process-driven, results-oriented, and skilled in building strong customer relationships.
