Your Role:
At MilliporeSigma, the Distribution Team Lead is responsible for performing core warehouse and distribution job elements. They are responsible for meeting or exceeding performance expectations, ensuring job accuracy, following health and safety guidelines, and complying with company and regulatory requirements. This position is based in St. Louis at 2425 South Second.
Responsibilities:
- Distribution Team Lead may be required to work both 1st and 2nd shift
- Maintains orders, work areas and stock locations in a safe, clean, and organized manner
- Reports unsafe or potentially unsafe hazards to any member of management and assists in the solutions of issues
- Assists Supervisor(s) and works in a lead technical capacity to maintain workflow in department – ability to allocate resources appropriately
- Participates in and supports the development and implementation of process improvement projects and leads test cycles to challenge current practices, improve system efficiency, enhance customer service, training and maintain compliance
- Troubleshoot problems within the department – including root cause analysis and development of solutions to avoid future occurrences
- Assist with testing changes in systemic programs and operational processes
- Perform quality checks or audits to ensure procedures are being followed correctly
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ Years of experience in a Warehouse or Shipping setting
- 1+ Years of experience in a leadership, management, or supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operational experience in a Distribution Center or in Chemical Manufacturing
- Time management skills
- Communication skills, verbal, listening and written
- Knowledge on training staff in new or existing processes and/or procedures
- Understanding of overall DC operations
- Knowledge of hazardous storage, and shipping regulations
- Knowledge in operating a PC and working knowledge of word processing, SAP and spreadsheet software
