Pay Range - $25.00 - $28.00/hour
Position Purpose
This position supports the City of Arvada Housing Division including the Homelessness Resolution Case Managers with street outreach activities to assist people experiencing homelessness.
Essential Job Functions
Assists individuals in accessing resources and services to support them with stabilizing their homelessness, mental health and primary health situations
Assists with data collection and reporting to ensure grant compliance
Develop relationships with local non-profits and other service providers to identify possible solutions for individuals in need.
Assists individuals in meeting food, clothing, shelter and transportation needs.
Assists clients in completing applications for income, medical, housing or other benefits.
Responds to email and phone inquiries for shelter, food, housing and other related assistance
Conducts outreach to eligible clients, informs and educates them about available community services, and maintains ongoing contact to support program requirements.
Performs data entry in Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Workday, the City of Arvada’s financial system.
Assists with data collection for grant reporting.
Acts in a supportive role in the Housing Division

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Basic understanding of the homeless population.
Basic understanding of local community resources.
Strong customer service and problem resolution skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to answer routine to complex questions based on understanding of division policies and procedures and program-specific requirements and information.
Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to support organizational objectives and interact with all levels of personnel within the city in a positive and cooperative manner.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, specifically with filtering data and using custom tables for data collection
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Preferred
Experience with HMIS
License & Certification
A valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable driving record is preferred.

Work Experience Related
Prior experience working with clients experiencing homelessness.
Three (3) years of general office/administrative experience.
Work Experience Preferred
Prior experience working with homelessness programs is highly desired.
Other Qualifications
Physical Demands
Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
Hazards
Minimal exposure to hazards are typically found in general office environment where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
Work Environment
Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.

The City of Arvada does not offer benefits to temporary and/or seasonal employees. Temporary, Variable Hour and Health Plan Eligible employees will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum cap of 48 hours.
