THE POSITION

The Senior Guest Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of all guest-related services for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. This includes managing the entire FIFA27 Guest Operations team to ensure an exceptional experience for VVIPs, VIPs, stakeholders, partners, and dignitaries.

This role will oversee all key guest journey touchpoints – such as arrivals, transport, accommodation, venue access, hospitality services, and issue resolution – while upholding the highest standards of service, security, and cultural sensitivity.

Working in close collaboration with FIFA27 departments, FIFA Zurich, governmental authorities, agencies, and service providers, the Senior Guest Operations Manager will ensure that the overall guest experience is seamless, professional, and reflective of the tournament’s prestige and the host nation’s hospitality. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Establish policies and guidelines for Guest Management and Protocol requirements of VVIPs and VIPs guests and other dignitaries throughout the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the successful planning and implementation of the following sub-projects: Guest Operations, Guest Relations, Protocol, Guest Experience and Hospitality, International and Domestic Relations.
  • Collaborate with all relevant departments and sub-divisions within the FIFA27 and FIFA Zurich, ensuring that optimal conditions are established in coordination with relevant FIFA stakeholders, host associations, local authorities and third-party entities.
  • Map out end-to-end guest journeys for VVIPs and VIPs, defining service levels and operational requirements across all relevant venues, including stadiums, VIP hotels, FIFA Venue Hotels, and other official sites.
  • Manage and oversee the human and material resources required for each journey task, in collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as with external partners.
  • Oversee the financial planning and budget management for guest operations, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while maintaining high service standards in line with FIFA guidelines and host country regulations.
  • Manage space allocation and detailed operational planning for VVIPs and VIPs areas and infrastructure requirements at all official sites (airports, hotels, match venues) ensuring compliance with FIFA requirements.   • Define a tournament workforce plan to successfully execute the operations and distribute workloads efficiently and monitor progress to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Conduct site visits and (remote) inspections and prepare detailed reports for the FIFA Zurich Guest Operations team and provide regular progress updates to the FIFA27 line manager.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and debriefing within the Guest Operations area, following FIFA’s guidelines and legacy planning principles.

YOUR PROFILE

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field – such as Event Management, Hospitality, Project Management, or Business – is desirable, though equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in planning and team leadership within large-scale guest management or hospitality operations.
  • 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role, with proven experience in leading teams and coordinating guest-facing departments.
  • 2-4+ years on-the-field event operations experience, ideally within a sport/event organisation, or a mega project, preferably a world class sport event or FIFA events.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a complex, high-profile event setting, ideally including local governmental entities and/or football federations.
  • Strong language skills in both English and Portuguese, enabling clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and project management capabilities, with excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, paired with a high level of diplomacy and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize a diverse and dynamic workload.
  • A pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to think quickly and adapt in high-pressure environments.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships to driveshared success.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and general IT Administration Skills
  • Right to work in Brazil. 
  • Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
