About the role:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Casualty Underwriter to join our team.
You'll play a pivotal role in the growth of the casualty portfolio for NSW and ACT. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced underwriter to demonstrate their market presence, and strong broker relationships within the liability sector.
Responsibilities Include
- Possess an established market presence and strong broker relationships within the Liability sector.
- Provide a high standard of service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to the growth of a profitable liability portfolio, leveraging their technical expertise and network.
- Represent the business confidently in the market, upholding our reputation as a trusted and responsive underwriting partner.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a liability-focused role within an underwriting agency environment.
- Deep understanding of working under a binder arrangement, with the ability to assess complex risks and make informed decisions within delegated authority.
- Strong referral writing skills to escalate risks appropriately where cases fall outside of binding authority.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical underwriting judgment to complex or non-standard risks.
