Job Description:
This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient material flow and production alignment across a dynamic manufacturing environment. Following recent organizational changes, the position now includes full responsibility for post-placement Purchase Order (PO) management, significantly expanding its operational impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory goals, and manufacturing capacity.
- Oversee post-placement PO activities:
- Expedite critical materials to meet production deadlines.
- Adjust delivery schedules in response to evolving production needs.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with Finance and Procurement.
- Address receiving issues and coordinate with warehouse and suppliers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to ensure timely material availability and issue resolution.
- Monitor and respond to material shortages, lead time fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency and supply chain agility.
- Maintain ERP system accuracy related to material planning and cost standards.
Required skills/experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain related position, ideally in a low-volume, high-mix production environment.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) ideally SAP.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with a strong emphasis on Excel for data analysis, scheduling, and reporting.
- Familiarity with Power BI is a plus for creating dashboards and visualizing production and inventory metrics.
- Familiarity with Power Automate is a plus, especially for streamlining planning workflows and automating routine tasks such as expediting.
- Experience in the railroad or heavy industrial sector is highly desirable.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a business related field or equivalent experience
