Major/Essential Functions
- Updates, maintains and coordinates information and schematic drawings pertaining to the facilities mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- The installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, and other related equipment
- Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall of systems and equipment
- Installs and maintain mechanical, and plumbing systems and equipment such as HVAC, boilers, Metasys, controls, valves, VFD's, etc.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as assigned
- Responds to and corrects, work related calls such as temperature or odor complaints
- Performs on-call duties as required
- Monitors water treatment programs to ensure the efficient utilization of water and chemicals to minimize waste
- Responds to emergency calls in a timely and efficient manner to promptly correct the issue
- Monitor and adjust set points and operating parameters to optimize systems and equipment under the guidance of mechanical tradesman leader and superintendent
- Maintains and monitors building energy management System
- Produce reports and energy consumption trends for analysis
- Actively participates and completes training, personal development and continuing education
- Supporting FSS management, and project managers as the station plumber through design consultation, code consideration, and installation guideline support of plumbing and piping systems as required by the Uniform Plumbing Code, Manufacture's installation guides, industry engineering standards, and the needs of Facilities Support Services
- Inspects, adjusts, cleans, and repairs plumbing fixtures and systems, steam operated equipment, heating and water systems, waste lines, kitchen equipment, air compressors, medical compressed air systems, vacuum systems, oxygen systems, and natural gas distribution systems
- Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Driver's License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and Insurance Carrier. Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background check.

- Proficiency in written and mathematical skills as may be reflected in the completion of high school or equivalent
- Three years experience in designated trade or licensed journeyman
