Description

The Warehouse Delivery Driver is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse while also providing delivery and route support to customer locations. This associate assists with warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory management, and ensures timely and professional product deliveries. As the face of the company on assigned routes, the Warehouse Delivery Driver must project a positive image and maintain strong customer relationships.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, scheduling freight carriers, and preparing shipments.
  • Check in merchandise against purchase orders, part numbers, and descriptions; process customer returns and non-inventoried items.
  • Read and follow customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping, staging, or other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or product code.
  • Fill sales orders, work orders, and stock requests, ensuring accurate distribution to shipping or designated assembly areas.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and stage them for delivery or shipment.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Open and break down boxes, bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials received or distributed using appropriate computer programs.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Weigh and count items to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Complete requisition forms for supplies from other departments.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse orderliness, accessibility, and safety for associates and customer traffic.
  • Perform basic facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Prepare parcels and freight for shipment.
  • Drive a company vehicle over an established route 2–3 times per week (or as needed) to deliver products and maintain customer inventory.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, building and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
  • Maintain quality service by following organizational standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge and proficiency with computers and standard software/programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, shipping instructions, and safety rules.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong basic math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
  • Must be certified or able to become certified in forklift operation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to represent the company positively with customers.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and meet insurability requirements.

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months related warehouse, delivery, or shipping/receiving experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability standards required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of warehouse and outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
