We are pleased to announce an internal job opportunity at Child Development Resources (CDR) for a Data Analyst in our VA Infant & Toddler Specialist Network and the Virginia Department of Education’s statewide quality measurement and improvement program, Virginia Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5). This role will focus on program-related data analysis—collecting, cleaning, analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing data to support decision-making, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement in early childhood education. In this role, you’ll turn data into actionable insights that guide decision-making, support program quality, and ultimately help young children thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and manage program data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to share findings with leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
- Analyze outcomes and prepare reports to support compliance and program evaluation.
- Collaborate with program teams to translate data into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Support state and local reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with VDOE and grant standards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data using a variety of research methods.
- Knowledge of data quality assurance techniques, statistical formulas, and compliance reporting.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Airtable, Tableau/Power BI, SQL, R, or Python.
- Commitment to the mission of improving outcomes for children and families in Virginia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Education Research, or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Experience with education, nonprofit, or child development data strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree in data analytics, public policy, education research, or related field preferred.
Work Environment & Location
- Position is based in Williamsburg, Virginia.
- Occasional in-state travel may be required.
