Summary:
Learn our selling process and training processes so you can assist Store Management team. The Sales / Manager in Training individual wants and strives to be an Assistant Sales Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Complete training for sales and learn necessary skills to manage a clientele book of business so that you may teach all processes and best practices to your sales team.
- Assist Store Manager in all aspects of daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, procedural tasks and paperwork, as well as visual merchandising.
- Maintains both individual and shift sales.
- Provides daily floor coverage as assigned by Store Manager.
- Coach all Sales Associates with emphasis on new hires and the 10 week new hire training program
- Supervises POS as needed.
- Provides security & loss prevention in store.
- Oversees contest management (Tracking Results & Coaching Performance).
- Organizes transfer of merchandise on and off floor as directed.
- Performs maintenance of store as directed.
- Opens and closes store when needed.
- Holds accountability for store sales and metrics.
- Holds accountability for stock and merchandise flow.
- Maintains company standards regarding personal and store sales/performance metrics.
Job requirements:
- Completion of Furniture Sales Training to learn the following: selling process, special order process, Finance options, protection program, sales application program, company website, & customer service (typically 6 month training)
- Completion of the MIT training program
- Completes one day learning the warehouse, delivery, and customer service process
- Participate in morning meetings and Friday sales meetings
- Learn how to work monthly, weekly, daily reports
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
- Professional in written and verbal skills, as well as dress attire
- Proficient in Microsoft
- Team Leader for all sales associates
- Great attention to detail that seeks the question Why

- Requires standing approximately 5 – 8 hours per day usually 3 – 5 days per week.
- During peak sale periods (e.g. Holiday, Back-to-School), will work for long periods throughout a 1 – 12 hour day.
- Requires stooping and kneeling to place merchandise as needed. In addition, reaching and pulling to obtain or stock merchandise.
- May be required to climb ladder or ascend/descend stairs in order to stock and/or acquire merchandise for sale.
- Required to lift items weighing 5 – 25 lbs regularly. In certain circumstances, weights may be higher.
- Required to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.
