You will support the successful growth and development of children and their families participating in the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). This is a is free, state-funded preschool that provides comprehensive services designed to support healthy families, empowered individuals, and thriving communities through high-quality early learning and family-centered opportunities. You will have the opportunity to positively impact young children’s growth and development and provide support and encouragement to families of young children.
This is a limited duration position lasting up to 3 years depending on funding for 20 hours per week in Buckley.

How to be Successful in this Role: We are looking for someone to contribute to a nurturing and effective learning environment for children in the ECEAP program. Someone with strong communication and active listening who will keep an organized classroom, provide positive reinforcement, and build positive relationships through empathy and understanding.
Your Future in this Role: Throughout the onboarding process, you will meet with the Managers, Supervisors, and teams, regularly to discuss expectations, set goals, identify priorities, and gain familiarity with current policies, procedures, and strategic measures. Core Daily Responsibilities:
Assist Educator in supervision and promotion of activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children enrolled.
Assist the Educator in the daily educational procedures within the classroom including music, meals, group projects, free time, outside activities, etc.
Interact positively with all children to support their individual learning and meet their emotional needs.
Supervise all children’s activities to ensure safety at all times.
Work with Educator to prepare and organize the classroom and classroom materials.
Perform daily, classroom cleaning to maintain a neat and organized classroom.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- One year of successful, relevant work experience in a preschool or childcare setting and a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition; or
- Twelve college quarter credits in early childhood education. College credit must be earned from an accredited institution of higher education.
Special Requirements and/or Qualifications:
- A valid Washington State driver's license may be required when travel is required for the position.
- Pediatric First Aide/CPR card and Food Handler's permit must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- TB skin test or, for those individuals with a positive skin test, a statement from a doctor or chest x-ray must be furnished upon hire.
- Proof of MMR or immunity.
- A criminal history check, including fingerprints, is required prior to hire.
- Successfully complete a Portable Background Check through the Department of Children Youth and Families prior to your first day of employment.
As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check. Information received from the background check is reviewed case-by-case and will not necessarily remove an applicant from consideration.
