About the Department

Workforce & Economic Development Research Analyst
Salary: $27.81 hourly
Classification: Administrative/Exempt Part-Time
Reports to: Director of Program Development & Continuing Education

Olympic College is recruiting to fill a part-time Workforce Development Research Analyst position. This position operates under the direction of the Director of Program Development and Continuing Education. The primary focus of this position is to research and identify emerging needs and the relevance of the college’s existing portfolio of professional-technical programs. Under general direction, perform independent research, feasibility studies, and other activities for potential new and current instructional programs that advance Workforce & Economic Development Department and Olympic College initiatives. This position also assists in the evaluation of research tools and the data they provide (e.g., Hanover, Lightcast, JobsEQ).

Position Duties

  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer-based data collection, analysis and presentation.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of standard desktop computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Support
  • With direction from WFED Dean and Directors, respond to various requests for research, data, and dashboard builds from OC staff, faculty, and board of directors, leveraging tools like ctcLink and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Instruction on special data requests and presentations to support institutional planning and decision-making.
  • Perform research and data extraction in support of OC’s professional-technical programs and Continuing Education program.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree including college-level course work in basic statistics from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of research experience in education, workforce development, or another industry.
  • Equivalent education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ctcLink, Tableau, Lightcast, or JobsEQ

Working Conditions
This position requires punctual and regular in-person attendance. This position is in a typical office environment but may require the employee to move across campus to other buildings. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position. May be required to lift, carry and transport equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.

This is a part-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary for this position is $27.81 hourly, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
