A senior-level environmental science professional with expertise across various areas of discipline and a true interest in supporting a role involving office and field work. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and resolution-focused individual willing to work hard and exercise a long-term commitment to our team and CPH.

One should expect this role to require a diverse environmental science expertise and knowledge while also bringing a strong level of professional business acumen. This role will support specialized areas of research, analysis, compliance, and regulations. Expect a role that is dynamic and not isolated to the office setting as the responsibilities are inclusive of supporting fieldwork in diverse weather and environmental settings.
- Position Overview -
Core Responsibilities:
- Proficient in wetland delineation, including identifying hydric soils and understanding plant species.
- Proficient with water quality monitoring procedures, QA/QC, and analysis of results.
- Capable of performing fieldwork under diverse weather conditions and environmental settings.
- Experienced in supporting engineers and scientists with routine environmental issues.
- Familiar with permitting processes involving the five Water Management Districts, FDEP, the Army Corps of Engineers, USFWS, FFWCC and local authorities.
- Able to provide a draft work product to supervisor that was prepared using sound professional judgement.
- Skilled in generating standard work products requiring minimal feedback or revisions.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement and knowledge of principles and techniques in making minor adaptations and modifications to the work product.
- Able to identify when additional help is required and proactively seek assistance.
- May be required to supervise or coordinate the work of others on specific assignments.
- Able to work under supervision, receiving instruction on specific assignment objectives, standard permitting projects and propose possible solutions.
- Demonstrates accountability by adhering to project scopes, staying within budget and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in environmental regulations and best practices.
- Fieldwork with a variety of weather and terrain.
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, and ability to maintain schedules and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Familiar with the architecture and engineering industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Assist with administrative duties and needed.
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology and other related fields.
- 5-12 years' experience in environmental consulting related fields
- Certifications desired for conducting gopher tortoise services, wetland delineation and other professional recognitions.
