The Senior Test Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electronic equipment. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to mentor junior technicians while ensuring high-quality service delivery and working under minimal supervision.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and test RMA returns in accordance with documented test procedures to ensure product meets specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, test procedures, and process flow instructions.
  • Identify quality and reliability issues and submit recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in quality control checks and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain records and manuals in accordance with FAA Part 145 regulations
  • Produce FAA 8130-3 Return to Service documentation as required
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues in electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Train and mentor new technicians on repair techniques and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to improve repair processes.
  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and repair supplies.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years electronic test experience.
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Working in the Aerospace/Aviation industry.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Understanding of schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and lead small teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational school or secondary education in electronics technology

Occasional Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and gripping is required daily.
  • Frequently observe, detect, discern, and convey information. Specific abilities required by this job include near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Ability to safely control surgical razor blades and small hand tools used to manipulate tuning stub under a microscope. Specific abilities required by this job include the frequent requirement of overtime work.
