Description
National Accounts Business Development Manager will lead high-level strategic growth efforts focused on private sector and Fortune 1000 clients. This role requires a seasoned business development leader who can manage and grow a multimillion-dollar book of business while cultivating long-term, trusted partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering at least $1 million in new business annually, while also managing one direct report.
- Identify, pursue, and secure large-scale contracts with private sector agencies and Fortune 1000 companies.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans tailored to complex, high-profile clients.
- Manage a book of business valued at $1 million+ annually, ensuring growth, retention, and client satisfaction.
- Build deep relationships with C-level executives, procurement officers, and key decision-makers.
- Lead business reviews, proposal development, and strategic discussions to drive new and expanded engagements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Finance to meet the specific needs of enterprise-level clients.
- Manage, coach, and support one direct report, ensuring alignment with team and company goals.
- Maintain full accountability for a new business quota of $1 million+ per year.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and government contracting forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing enterprise-level accounts with measurable success.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a client portfolio exceeding $1 million annually.
- Strong background in strategic B2B sales, public sector contracting, and enterprise account management.
- Proven track record of achieving $1 million+ in new business annually.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working with or selling into Fortune 1000 companies and private sector organizations is required.
- Experience managing or mentoring team members is preferred.
