What you’ll do: You’ll report to the accounting supervisor and be responsible for the inspection of incoming shipments, assist with the receipt, storage and distribution of warehouse items and inventory control in compliance with management & Training Corporation (MTC) and immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) directives. 

Essential Functions:      

  1. Operate data processing equipment. 
  2. Assist with the completion of purchase orders. 
  3. Inspect all incoming shipments to ensure required specifications are met. 
  4. Coordinate and perform the receipt, storage, and issue of warehouse items. 
  5. Responsible for stocking, record keeping, and warehousing methods as required by applicable policies and procedures. 
  6. Maintain perpetual inventory controls through the use of established systems including computerized programs. 
  7. Enter and maintain detainee funds. 
  8. Process detainee releases as well as new arrivals. 
  9. Enter detainee labor accordingly. 
  10. Maintain detainee files and respond to I60’s.
  11. Participate in detainee orientation. 
  12. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, filing, preparation of repetitive reports and input/output forms in a timely manner. 
  13. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. 
  14. Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. 

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year varied and responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience required. Academic training in bookkeeping, accounting or payroll preferred. Experience with automated accounting systems or programs preferred. Must successfully complete required preservice training. Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. 

Post-hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
