Description
Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist, full-time
General summary of duties: Responsible for assisting the Billing Manager with the full revenue cycle of the organization including billing, charges, denials, adjustments, and reimbursements. Preferably, we would like candidates to be living in Flagstaff. For the right candidate, who is skilled and meeting all of the Requirements, we may consider a Biller who may live in the Phoenix or Phoenix-metro area.
Pay: $19 - $23.50
Location: Flagstaff Clinic Business Office
Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Responsibilities include:
• Timely claims processing for multiple providers
• Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for all services
• Heavy phone volumes, assist patients with questions, collect payments and discuss payment options
• Assist providers and staff with billing questions
• Patient payment data entry
• Evaluate insurance requests
• Perform other related tasks and duties that may develop as the job evolves
Requirements
Position Requirements:
• Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• Experience working as a medical biller
• Must be familiar with current coding trends, including ICD-10
• Must be able to help work claim denials and identify denial trends
• Experience with MS Office and Athena EMR helpful
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Outstanding teamwork attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Must believe in a patient-centered approach to healthcare
• Must have clear/concise verbal and written communication skills
• Work at an efficient and fast pace
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail
• Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives
• Computer literacy and familiarity with the operations of basic office equipment
