Requirements

What You’ll Do

As the People and Culture Career Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering a supportive and engaging work environment that reflects the values of Camillus House. You will focus on career development, employee engagement, and internal mobility to help staff thrive both personally and professionally. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, your responsibilities include:

  • Career Development & Pathing: Design and manage career development initiatives, individual growth plans, and mentorship opportunities that empower employees to build meaningful career pathways within the organization.
  • Compliance & Employee Relations: Ensure organizational compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and best practices. Support managers in handling employee relations issues, including progressive discipline, performance management, and conflict resolution with fairness and consistency.
  • Data & Insights: Collect, analyze, and report workforce trends, engagement metrics, and development outcomes to guide decision-making and shape People and Culture strategy.
  • Employee Engagement: Lead engagement initiatives including recognition programs, surveys, check-ins, and events that promote connection, well-being, and organizational pride. Develop actionable strategies based on employee feedback to continuously improve culture and morale.
  • Onboarding & Retention: Enhance onboarding processes to ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience for new hires, and develop retention strategies aligned with employee needs and organizational goals.
  • Talent Management & Mobility: Partner with leadership and supervisors to assess workforce needs, identify high-potential employees, and support succession planning and internal promotion opportunities.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and facilitate workshops and training sessions on professional growth, leadership, cultural competence, compliance, and equity-focused practices.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field 
  • 3+ years of experience in career development, People and Culture, or talent management.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource principles, employee engagement strategies, and training program development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • A deep commitment to Camillus House’s mission and core values.
  • Spanish or French language skills preferred. 
  • Project Management Experience Preferred 
  • Human Resources Certification Preferred
