Position Overview
Nextsite is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support the HR department across three growing companies. This role will play a key part in onboarding new hires, driving talent acquisition efforts, administering employee benefits, and contributing to a variety of HR initiatives that support our people and culture.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Initiates background screenings, review background screening reports, and escalate background screening issues as needed.
- Facilitates new hire onboarding by initiating web-based onboarding, processing required paperwork, and coordinating with departments to ensure necessary equipment and resources are available on the first day.
- Assist with initial setup of Driver Qualification files for new CDL and Commercial Drivers.
- Facilitate orientation sessions to ensure all new hires are properly introduced to Company personnel and facilities, policies, and made aware of benefit plans and other corporate resources made available to them.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintains personnel files and records according to Company policy and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Process employee status changes utilizing HRIS to include department transfers, supervisor changes and promotions.
- Completes employment and income verifications.
- Serve as the primary resource to employees in answering questions about onboarding, recruiting, benefits, and HR policies and procedures.
- Provide support in organizing and administering annual performance reviews to ensure timely completion.
- Process employee benefit changes, including enrollments, terminations, and qualifying events.
- Assist with annual benefit program renewal.
- Assist with 401(k) plan administration.
- Support engagement and culture-building activities, including recognition programs, internal events, and surveys.
- Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives such as policy updates, training, and process improvement.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Prepare and file monthly Workers Compensation payroll reports.
- Assist with Workers Compensation claim management.
- Prepare various reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 2+ years of human resources experience.
Preferred:
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Construction or similar industry experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
