Belstra Milling Company, a family-owned business located in DeMotte, Indiana currently seeking a full-time Feed Mill Maintenance/Safety Associate for our feed manufacturing operations, garden centers and transportation fleet. Belstra is a trusted leader in the agriculture industry, providing high-quality feed, hog production expertise and transportation logistics. Our operations include modern feed mills, garden centers and a transportation fleet all working together to support animal health and sustainable feed production.  This role is deeply rooted in agriculture, requiring an understanding of maintaining equipment and the safety challenges unique to an agricultural business. Experience in maintenance and feed mill operations is critical. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following list):

• Ensure safety equipment and supplies (e.g., first-aid kits/supplies, PPE) are readily available, maintained and in good condition at all locations
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
• Knowledge in general plumbing, welding, fabrication, electrical and carpentry skills.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement in safety performance. 
• Respond to accidents and lead investigations when necessary
• Set-up, field auger/conveyor systems and single/three-phase electrical power knowledge preferred
• Maintain various OSHA safety records
• Serve as a safety advocate and leader across all department and divisions while performing tasks with maintenance team members

Requirements

Physical Demands:

• Lift at least 60 pounds
• Some evening or early morning work may be required for inspections or safety training.
• Role requires adaptability to environments with particulate matter, temperature changes and operational equipment
• Climb ladders, stairs and work at heights along with bending, stooping, kneeling, etc.
• Valid drivers’ license, as some area travel in a company vehicle is required
• Ability to work in a dusty environment

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:

• H.S. diploma or A.S. degree/certifications in occupational health and safety, technical training, ag, or related field preferred
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• 2+ years of safety experience and maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA; including certification in OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid and CPR
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)-preferred, but not required
