Your role: 

In your role as Mortgage Loan Coordinator, you will respond to member mortgage loan inquiries, answer member mortgage loan questions and support the retail staff in their efforts to refer new mortgage business to the Credit Union. You will present current Oklahoma Central Credit Union mortgage product offerings to meet established loan quality and production goals. You will respond to member inquiries and referrals that are generated from both your own contacts and from other credit union business channels. You will conduct interviews with prospective borrowers via phone, email, and/or in person, and analyze financial and credit data. You will also determine members financing objectives, advise members of products, pricing policies, and guidelines, and gather any additional required information while maintaining a consistent flow of communication between the credit union and the member.
 

To support the credit union's mission of community engagement and financial empowerment, you will also participate in outreach efforts to prospective mortgage leads and contribute to community-focused initiatives. These may include attending or hosting homebuyer education workshops, financial literacy events, and other local programs designed to promote the credit union's mortgage services and build lasting relationships within the community.
 

You will deliver exceptional member experience by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while adhering to HMDA and TRID requirements.


In this role you will:

  • Facilitate and manage the mortgage loan application process with members. This includes conducting interviews via phone, email, or in person; discussing loan terms and qualifications; determining borrower financing objectives; presenting appropriate credit union products and programs; explaining guidelines; identifying opportunities to offer additional products; collecting supporting documentation; and delivering a complete loan package to processors. Ensure all loan disclosures are completed within three days of application in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Member Relationship Specialists, Loan Operations, and Underwriting to ensure accurate submission of loan packages and timely resolution of any required loan conditions.
  • Provide prompt and proactive follow-up with members regarding the status of their loan applications, including a commitment to returning phone calls and emails within the same-day timeframe.
  • Maintain relationships with members and external business partners to foster future business opportunities. Conduct outreach to prospective mortgage leads and participate in community-focused initiatives such as homebuyer education workshops, financial literacy events, and local engagement programs to promote credit union mortgage services.
  • Monitor online mortgage application submissions and actively engage all applicants. Complete month-end reports and other tracking documents as required.
  • Maintain relationships with Retail Services, Lending Services, and other credit union departments to meet key expectations of the position.
  • Maintain acceptable risk and internal control standards.
  • Monitor, report and communicate to management on trends in operations and loan services as well as key operating issues.
  • Deliver service to both internal and external members that are aligned with the Credit Union's Service Standards and meet all established service goals.
  • Commitment to Credit Unions’ needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Understand and comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations as they relate to their position.
  • Comply with all security guidelines related to physical and information security.

Requirements


Who we're looking for:

You are detailed, analytical and enjoy problem-solving. You have the ability to influence others and naturally build strong relationships and establish credibility with a wide range of leaders and participants. You are a self-starter and are no stranger to a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines, and you are relentless in ensuring that work is completed through effective organization and task management.


You'll need to have:

  • High school diploma, GED or higher
  • One or more years of similar or related experience

Even better if you have:

  • Associates degree or higher
  • completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. 
  • Previous credit union or financial institution experience.
