Job Title:Staff Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Business & Team:

Retail Technology is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

You will be working as a part of Retail Technology to achieve their strategic objectives through planning, prioritising, delivering and supporting projects and initiatives. Your team’s success will be realised through partnering with business and IT teams across both business domain and Technology to deliver beautiful experiences and exceptional capabilities to our branch applications

You will contribute to the financial well-being of our customers by ensuring that our team builds the best solutions possible using modern development practices that ensure both functional and non-functional needs are met.

Roles & Responsibilities:-

  • Design and Build Identity Solutions
    • Design Solutions: collaborate with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to architect solutions and shape system design
    • Implement Solutions: implement in accordance with architecture, product, and design specifications, while ensuring performance, maintainability, and security of implementation.
    • Maintain Systems: address emerging functional, security, or performance issues.
  • Secure Development
    • Scalable Architecture: ensure scalability of secure development and production environments.
    • Hardening: design and manage specifications for maintaining hardened systems and containers.
    • Automation: design and implement robust automation strategies for maintaining hardened systems, images, implementations, releases, testing, etc
    • Secure Environments: collaborate with IT Operations and security teams to ensure ongoing compliance with security.
  • Implement and Deploy
    • CI/CD Pipeline: utilise and assist in managing optimised CI/CD pipeline.
  • Incident Response
    • Incident Response: support security incident investigations related to CIAM to identify root causes and drive remediation.
  • Supporting Change
    • Strategy: partner with Product and Architecture teams to define and design CIAM solutions that achieve business objectives.
    • Advise on Design: provide feedback and guidance related to how CIAM impacts/is impacted by organisational initiatives.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 12+ years of industry experience
  • Authoritative knowledge of Identity and Access Management Technology or Cybersecurity
  • Extensive knowledge identity proofing, identity verification, fraud prevention, and detection technologies.
  • Deep familiarity with IAM protocols, such as OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, FIDO, and SCIM
  • Experience with key IAM and Cybersecurity concepts, like Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, Directories, API Gateways, SOA Services, threat detection, etc
  • Past experience configuring and integrated CIAM solutions using Ping Federate and Ping Directory. Experience with P1AS desirable.
  • Understand a range of modern software engineering and architecture concepts, including end to end test automation, CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions), and RESTful web services.
  • Proven experience solving problems in complex domains.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, including assessing and controlling risks of various kinds and apply this appropriately to diverse situations
  • Displays courage and willing to always contribute constructive feedback - not being afraid to highlight issues and challenges and bringing alternative solutions to the table.
  • Contribute to internal online discussion around software engineering, delivery and technology (for example blog posts and knowledge base articles).
  • Drive the development of strategic programs of work, including proof of concept developments.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
