MAJOR FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for, all aspects of the EMS and Ground Transport daily operations in accordance with all rules, laws, regulations, and Inspira policies and procedures. Attend all mandatory meetings, complete all required network certifications and tasks within the allotted time. This individual will assist in the onboarding process of all new employees and work collaboratively with the other leaders to grow and strengthen the department within the communities we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required. 
  • Associates preferred. 
  • Three years supervisory experience preferred. 
  •  7-10 years' experience in pre-hospital care/transport required.

Certification/ Licensure:

  • NJ Paramedic or NJ endorsed Mobile Intensive Care Nurse.
  • AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required. 
  • ICS 100, ICS 200 and ICS 300 required. 
  •  Valid driver’s license in NJ in accordance with Inspira Health’s Fleet Safety ADM.291*IHN*.

Position Responsibilities

•       Supervises daily operations of EMTs, Paramedics, and SCTU crews.

•       Assists with scheduling concerns such as callouts, coverage, and helps with decision-making regarding staffing moves.

•       Assists with training of new hire employees as well as remediation of existing employees.

•       Assists with covering shifts for late employees and call outs when replacement staff is unavailable.

•       Acts as the first line of escalation for concerns related to patient care, crew conduct, dispatch/transport delays, or any operational issues that need immediate action.

•       Needs strong communication skills to work closely with service line managers, system leadership, county personnel, and other organizations' administrators.

•       Assists with any issues with equipemnt including pick-up or distribution as required.

•       Provides technical advice to staff within their scope and helps solve operational problems.

•       Maintain narcotic resupply depot as well as master depot in conjunction with ALS Manager.

•       Refill supervisor narcotics, maintain safe system in Paramedic stations/vehicles/SCTU ambulances.

•       Regular station rounding to converse with staff and periodic spot inspections of uniform, station and vehicle cleanliness, readiness and station duties complete. 

•       Response to 911 calls when warranted to assist crews.
