Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the School Programs and Consulting team to determine content needs and brainstorm solutions and final products.
- Analyze current content and identify missed opportunities, areas for improvement, and innovative methods of delivery so that the end result is truly useful to educators, students, and youth.
- Oversee the creation and publication of content with involvement at all stages to ensure quality.
- Oversee and update a detailed calendar and tracking system for content, coordinating across teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with campaigns, initiatives, and organizational priorities.
- Document development and approval workflows for various projects and support their roll out across the organization.
- Support the Marketing team in the creation of materials aimed at recruiting new school partners, such as newsletters, one-pagers, and press releases.
- Manage relationships with external and internal partners, including freelance writers, subject matter experts, designers, marketing managers, and others, to produce high-quality content that supports our mission.
- Ensure content adheres to best practices, and meets accessibility and usability standards.
- Work collaboratively across teams to create and edit program materials delivered through workshops and asynchronous courses.
- Partner with Digital Product team to inform and edit UX content that is used throughout JED’s digital experiences, including an online platform for program participants
- Work closely with subject-matter experts to integrate research and feedback during a content review process
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across digital content, increasing discoverability, engagement, and alignment with audience behavior while maintaining editorial integrity.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 7+ years of experience in content creation in mental health, education, or similar field
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Psychology, or a related field a plus.
- Background in content creation for program implementation is a plus
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to write in a variety of styles for different audiences, and in particular, educators and school leaders.
- Strong project and process management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Thorough command of Google tools, as well as comfort with project management software such as Asana and content management systems such as Contentful.
- Commitment to the vision of the organization and the high quality of content at all levels.
