Knowledge and Information Resources Advisor

Knowledge Management is one of the main pillars of our Ampa Group Services offering. The Knowledge Management team facilitate collaboration, sharing and networking across the Group to improve the flow of knowledge, whether that is technical legal information about cases, legislation and regulation; client information for cross-selling; or experiences and top tips.

The role will sit within our highly efficient Knowledge Management team, which forms a key service line within Ampa Group Services. You will help create, share and leverage our knowledge in the most effective way to meet client and business needs across the firm.

What you will be doing:

Know How Support
  • Supporting and encouraging a culture of know how sharing. This will include managing and developing repositories of know-how, their reuse and exploitation through precedents, practice notes, training and knowledge packs.
  • Supporting the knowledge management team, our people, and other business services functions with legal and business intelligence research. This will include tracking enquiries to identify knowhow and training needs.
  • Providing current awareness and supporting knowledge-based client marketing (newsletters, seminars, social media), so that the minimum amount of non-chargeable time is spent for the maximum return. 
  • Horizon scanning ensuring our legal teams are up to date with the latest developments, trends and other changes in their specialisms and for specific clients.
  • Managing information and research resources and databases to include password management and general knowledge management housekeeping duties
  • Working with Head of KM and the Knowledge Development Lawyers and helping to promote the knowledge management service to the wider Group.
Training
  • Identifying training priorities and the development of high-quality training manuals and programmes.
  • Raising awareness of knowledge management resources and providing training to ensure information and research resources and systems are used efficiently and productively.

What you will need:

  • 12 months’ experience working in a similar Information Services, Information Officer, Research Librarian or related role would be preferred.
  • Strong legal research skills and experience working with legal electronic databases.  An understanding of effective search techniques using Generative AI prompting would be desirable. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.    Confidence working with IT and the ability to learn new IT systems. 
  • An LIS qualification. 
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience of managing budgets and negotiating with suppliers.    Experience in developing and delivering legal and business research training. 
  • Experience working with Adobe Connect, Adobe Captivate, HighQ and SharePoint and the full suite of Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Credible, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Confidence to work within virtual team setting.
  •  A strong understanding and the ability to promote connections between brands
