The Supervisor, under the direct supervision of the Cage Director, with coordination from General Manager, and is responsible for ensuring all slot machines are emptied of coin, currency, and tickets, and taken to the count rooms for the count. The position is responsible for counting and balancing on all negotiable currencies throughout the Casino complex. The position is responsible for maintaining customer safety while moving heavy carts throughout the Casino complex.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Handle game drop and supervise the movement of cash and cash equivalents.
- Record drop and create drop reports.
- Remove all currency, coin and tickets from slot machines.
- Secure bill acceptor in bill acceptor cart.
- Count, balance, and reconcile cash and cash equivalents received by Kewadin Casino.
- Wrap and/or bag all cash and cash equivalents.
- Comply with all NIGC count room procedures.
- Ensure team member compliance with policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
- Assist with the troubleshooting of equipment, conveyor systems, currency counters problems and computers.
- Review variance investigative reports to identify potential issues with cash drop and notifies and works with Accounting Department to resolve issues.
- Maintain daily contact with Accounting Department.
- Issue, retrieve, and inventory sensitive keys used for the drop and count process.
- Prepare and create count report.
- Prepare, create, and review budget.
- Create and maintain team member schedules, approves vacation, sick and personal time, hires, fires, processes sick leave, vacation leave and personal days, payroll, and completes performance appraisals.
- Prepare report and document procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Order and maintain supplies.
- Order and maintain machines needed for the drop and count of monies.
- Ensure customer safety while moving heavy carts throughout Casino complex.
- Fill-in for Count Team Counters and Count Team Verifiers as needed.
- Transport sensitive documents between Kewadin Casino locations.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, customers and outside vendors/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, carrying/lifting, stooping, kneeling, manual handling, bending; frequent pushing/pulling, reaching, use of hearing, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision, travel, typing; occasional sitting, climbing, crawling and use of smell. Working conditions include frequent exposure to extreme weather, extreme heat/cold, noise, vibration, air quality and dimly lit areas; occasional exposure to weather and wet/humidity. Working conditions also include working in small enclosed rooms for long periods of time. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, computer use, equipment; occasional exposure to electric shock and chemicals.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as count team verifier required; 3 years preferred. Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience required.
Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have working knowledge and be able to use word processing, and database software. Must have working knowledge and be able to use office machines, such as calculator, fax, printer, and computer. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn weigh scales and G&D 500, Cash-pro system or similar currency and ticket processing machines. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn to use SDS, STC and Casino marketplace. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn how to use JD Edwards and Kronos. Must be able to or have the ability to learn and understand financial statements. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Must have computer trouble shooting skills. Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Must be available to work extended hours when needed. Must be able to travel to other Casino locations. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers, subordinates and the general public. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
