What You'll Do
This position goes beyond compliance - it's about connection, collaboration, and care. As our Health and Nutrition Services Coordinator, you'll:
- Keep things on track: Monitor and meet critical 45- and 90-day health deadlines under Head Start Performance Standards.
- Partner with providers: Coordinate with Health Districts and local healthcare providers to ensure every child receives the screenings and care they need.
- Lead with purpose: Organize and guide the Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) to ensure it supports real program needs.
- Ensure data quality: Keep health and nutrition records current and accurate through routine reviews and quality checks.
- Bridge families to care: Help connect parents with local resources and establish a network of ongoing healthcare support.
- Educate and empower: Train staff, parents, and volunteers on health practices and procedures, tailoring your approach to each audience.
- Stretch program dollars: Seek cost-effective solutions and in-kind support to maximize our health services budget.
- Support nutrition efforts: Work with our cooks and dietitian to develop healthy menus and ensure CACFP compliance.
What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor's degree in health, nutrition, or a related field (required)
- 2+ years of experience in a health-related role (preferred)
- Leadership or supervisory experience (a plus)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with community healthcare resources
- Valid Idaho driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Physical exam required; CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, year-round position with purpose, stability, and excellent benefits:
- Starting pay: $23.00–$24.00/hour (DOE)
- 403(b) retirement plan with 6% employer match
